A. The fabric is PU (polyurethane) coated on the inside and has a DWR (durable water repellent) coating on the outer. This makes the bag very weather resistant, but because the seams are not sealed water will seep in over time.

Heaphy Harness

Bought as part of a Bar/frame/saddle set, all in black, in August 2016. Has done 12-day tour in japan, 16 monthly midweek overnighters, 2 overnight long trips to the coast and 4 days through the mountains. It’s also up for 12 days in South Korea in September. This set has made bike backing easy, simple, and ready to go at a moment’s notice. Yes, I bought it for trips with my mates, but I also use it just as much with family and friends for picnics.
Harness Review:
Having never used bike packing gear before, it took me a few goes to work out where best to place the bar straps and the head tube straps. Thankfully, there are numerous webbing latching points to allow placement to miss brake and shifter points, etc. There are plenty of solid spacers supplied to help you get the drop of the harness right, just below the brakes levers but above the front tyre. The webbing, trim, and backing have stayed as new over the period. I’ve been using the Heaphy Harness with S2S dry bags, small, med or large, depending on what I need and how light I want to pack. It has the ability to swallow all three sizes and hold with stability. I’ve also used the extra webbing at the back on the sides to latch a first aid kit and a blue tooth speaker. I’ve loaned the Harness to a few people and it’s also been easy to set up. This is a solid product that has been well thought out, solidly constructed and definitely fit for form and function.
